“Becoming an Expat’ Mentor gives you the opportunity to make you new friends, practice a foreign language and learn a lot about another culture.”
Becoming an Expat’ Mentor allows you to help other expats to feel comfortable within the new environment by passing on your knowledge about a specific country to a less experienced person. Moreover, it gives you the opportunity to make you new friends, practice a foreign language and learn a lot about another culture.
Mentoring another person from a different background broadens your own horizons and deepens your understanding of other people and cultures. It provides other expats with support, counsel, friendship, reinforcement and constructive example.
You can gain satisfaction from knowing that you are helping an individual or even a family. If you have already been a expat’ mentee, you can look at the process as a way of “giving back.”
Should you consider being an Expat’ Mentor?
You might consider becoming an Expat’ Mentor if you know what you have to offer and are eager to share what you know with a less experienced Expat’. You will be a great mentor if you are ready to accept all the rewards that come when you help someone else.
